i have noticed, from reading posts on this and other related websites, what to me is an alarming practice taking place within the jw's.
and that is the baptism of kids.. on a recent discussion posted by pe ( video of the girl now forced to shun her sister) this child was baptised at 9 years old.
all of us who were baptised at a much older age know of the many questions one needs to give serious consideration and understanding of to become eligible for baptism, not to mention the two baptism questions asked before being dunked.. surely the organisation must know that children of such a young age are not mature enough to fully grasp the seriousness, demands and consequences of making such a decision.. another point; if jesus is the example to follow, then why did he only get baptised at age 30, and he was perfect!.
This a huge pet peeve of mine and it's gotten me in trouble a few times, to the point of my hubby asking me to please stop or I will be labeled "Apostate".
The WTBTS refuses to stop this practice of baptizing minors. These children (anyone under the age of 18) only memorize answers and are concerned with pleasing parents and people in the Cong.
I have stopped watching baptisms at the assemblies because there are always a few children in the line.

We humans can have a personal relationship with the Almighty in the same way a fruit fly or an ant can have a personal relationship with us humans.
In the grand scheme of things we are nothing to God. It even says it in his Word in many different ways... N O T H I N G!!!
Our imperfect mind tricks us into believing all sorts of crazy stuff; having a personal relationship with God is one of those gems.

The time spend carrying on at a nice dinner afterwards is nicer because I don't have to work the next day. Great!!!

If you really want to be a good JW, leave this online domain and never look back.
I came here years ago and now I'm stuck. Cannot leave physically the WTBTS because they hold my friends and family, and can't leave this place because after the mental/emotional awakening takes place, only here I find refuge and a place to vent or I would just go crazy from holding it all in.
Some day soon I'll be physically out as well. Now that is not feasible.

i may have missed it, but i just heard from a local elder that there are "new" instructions for how the two one day assembly's are to be conducted and handled......fifty-nine pages worth.
he said they will now all be put on the same as the regional conventions.
did i miss that letter/orders from "mother"?
We would rejoice if they were down to just one 1-day assembly, 10 am-12 noon & 1:30 pm-3 pm.
Although, with my smart phone & tablet, I tune out beautifully. Long live technology!

so, so much has happened in my life over the years and continues to happen, but i won't go into the details as it would take a long time.. i don't really know why, but i returned to "the truth" 15 years ago.
in 2012 when the tv broadcasting station launched, i started to develop doubts.
the australian royal commission and other scandals made me angrier, and i now don't believe most of the core teachings.. the only reason i show up at 5 or 6 meetings each month is to keep in contact with my parents and a few other family members.. but it's killing me, literally.

I miss as many mtgs and service as possible. When at the mtgs, with my smart phone, I tune out completely.
Perhaps professional assistance is warranted; it's not normal to want to end your life just because of a religion.

mum has a mild form of lukeimia if she took blood like normal people she could live to be 100. but no, anointed sisters dont compromise jehovah wont allow it.
so here i am moving to sydney for one month going to hospital everyday putting my life on hold to watch my mother die slowly.
watching her gasp for air, struggle to breath.
Respect choices when done in an adult person's right state of mind.
There are no guarantees, though. I had a coworker that developed an aggressive form of leukemia. She received several transfusions along with other treatments, and still passed away. Maybe the blood bought her some time, maybe it made things worse. Who for sure knows.
End of life, in any form, is terrible. Sorry.

Often. At assembly time, right after lunch, most definitely need a brief nap. Sometimes I discretely go to my vehicle, and sometimes right there at my seat with dark glasses on.

i was recently told this by a jw family member when trying to get through to them.
does this quote indicate that maybe such ones have considered that the jw's may not have the truth after all?
or is that just my wishful thinking?
